British-Made Watch Straps
British-made performance watch straps, from our workshop to your wrist.
ZA Strap Company designs and manufactures watch straps in the United Kingdom. We are a veteran-owned business with a workshop in Liverpool, building practical straps around considered materials, dependable construction and our own hardware designs.

Designed and made in our Liverpool workshop
ZA began with a search for a dependable strap for a watch we valued. That led to our first strap, then a dedicated workshop and a range of our own designs. Today, British manufacturing remains at the heart of the business.
Making our straps here keeps product development close to production. Materials, stitching, hardware and adjustment all contribute to how a strap feels and works on the wrist.

From textile production to finished strap
A finished strap starts with its fabric. These photographs show textile machinery and webbing in production, alongside the sewing and hardware work involved in making a strap.

Choose your fabric watch strap
Polaris: low profile and easy adjustment

A single-pass strap with hook-and-loop fastening and steel hardware. Available in 20mm and 22mm, Polaris offers easy adjustment without a row of sizing holes. Standard length suits wrists approximately 6.5–8 inches; see the product page for shorter and longer options.
Commando: elasticated comfort

Proprietary British elasticated webbing, a quick-release buckle and an open-gate slider. Its single-pass construction is designed for fixed-bar watches and demanding use. The 21mm webbing is designed to work with 20mm and 22mm lugs.
OTAN: traditional multi-pass construction

British-made webbing and ZA hardware in a traditional military-inspired strap. Available in 20mm and 22mm, with a choice of colours and hardware finishes.
Which fastening suits you?
- Easy adjustment: Polaris uses hook-and-loop fastening, with 20mm and 22mm options.
- Elasticated comfort: Commando combines stretch webbing with a quick-release buckle.
- Traditional construction: OTAN uses a multi-pass arrangement with a conventional buckle.
For the Tudor Pelagos FXD, our recommendation is Commando: read the development story and compatibility guide.
Check the fit before ordering
Match the strap to your watch's lug width, check the space between the bars and case, and choose a length suitable for your wrist. Fixed-bar watches need a compatible fastening and threading arrangement; width alone does not establish compatibility.
For a fixed-bar watch, read our Tudor Pelagos FXD compatibility guide. For help with another watch, contact ZA with its reference number and your wrist measurement.
Questions about British-made watch straps
How do I choose the right width?
Use your watch's lug width, not its case diameter. Confirm your exact watch reference or measure the gap between the lugs. Commando uses 21mm elasticated webbing designed to work with 20mm and 22mm lugs; Polaris and OTAN offer separate 20mm and 22mm options.
Will every strap fit a fixed-bar watch?
No. The fastening and threading arrangement must accommodate fixed bars. We recommend Commando for the Pelagos FXD; consult the guide before ordering.
Where can I see the manufacturing story?
Our story page explains ZA's development from the first strap to our workshop and collaborations. The product pages give material and construction details for each range.
